A Tale of Two Weddings

Life Gets In The Way Sometimes

It’s been a little bit since I started up this blog and I really haven’t written much.  Both Jess and I have been pretty busy as well as having quite the good time.  As the summer started wrapping up there were a pair of weddings as well as the passing of one of our pups.  Well I’ll always call Buster a pup even though he made it to 17.  =(

So two of my girlfriends got married and I didn’t take any pictures.  As you can see this photography thing is off to a real good start.  Maybe I need to light a ‘White Spark’ under my behind.  But I digress.  One of them was a rather small traditional affair. Nice. Quaint.  Rather boring I must say.  Alcohol ran out.

They had a cello and a harpist if that gives you any indication what this wedding was all about.  And no I’m not worried about them reading this they both really aren’t that tech savvy.

Now Nancy (whom I’ve known since we were 7) knew how to throw a party!  She found this awesome guy Steve who is just as off the wall as she is.  Now when i say ‘off the wall’ I don’t mean all nutty. I mean crazy as in ‘unique’. It was a very unique wedding experience.

Nancy and Steve = Jim and Pam

Ha-ha that still cracks me up every time I see it.

Let me give you a little example of how the differences were between the two affairs.  The first one she wore her mothers wedding dress.  Nancy made her own.  Yep.  That’s the kind of gal she is!  First one = traditional ‘Here Comes the Bride’. Nancy = Just like “The Office”.  I’ll give you two guesses who wore these: $1000 high heels that you never saw and tons of Couture you did.  You guessed right it wasn’t Nancy!

She actually wore this amazing pair of bedazzled Converse wedding shoes with all these amazing crystals on them, that were made especially for her.  She can’t actually make shoes (unlike all the other things at the wedding).  She finds these places online and orders things.  She gets custom shoes, veils and gifts.  Not the real Walmart kind of girl at all!  It was a blast. I’ll get more into it at a later post when I get some photos (which I didn’t take).

All in all remember kiddies to march to the beat of your own drummer.  Express yourself and be you.

I’m trying to take my own advice!
